Abstract
Investment interest is a desire to place some of the funds. Basically, students already have an interest in investing in the capital market. However, there are still many obstacles that must be faced, especially for beginner investors (have no experience) if they do not correctly understand the procedure for investing or what risks will be faced by investors. The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) states that investors come from millennials and generation Z. is a potential group to become the foundation of the capital market in the future (Indonesia Stock Exchange, 2021). This research was conducted with the aim of knowing whether motivation influences students' interest in deciding to invest in the capital market. In addition, the purpose of this study was to find out whether the level of literacy affects students' interest in deciding to invest in the capital market. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the SPSS program. Based on the results of the t test, the results show that the motivation variable partially influences the interest in investing. The diversity of values that exist in the investment interest variable which is influenced by motivation and financial literacy variables is only 21.5% while the remaining 78.5% is influenced by other variables not included in the model. Based on the results of the t test, it can be concluded that the financial literacy variable partially influences the interest in investing. The diversity of values that exist in the investment interest variable which is influenced by motivation and financial literacy variables is only 21.5% while the remaining 78.5% is influenced by other variables not included in the model.
